The I-X Center Acquires an Artistic Flair

With the By Hand Fine Art & Craft Show

 

Cleveland, OH) The I-X Center is proud to announce the acquisition of the By Hand Fine Art and Craft Show, adding to its group of high-quality consumer shows. The event will be entering its seventh successful year in November 2011, and will follow its tradition of co-location with the well-established Fabulous Food Show.

 

Robert J. Peterson, President of the I-X Center, states that the move to bring the By Hand Fine Art & Craft Show into the roster of facility events was an organic one. "The show has been a wonderful compliment to our event schedule, especially for the Fabulous Food Show. Their growing success, thanks to the dedication and craftsmanship of the artists, generated the idea that this is something we need to keep in place long-term. When the opportunity arose, we knew we were making a fantastic investment."

 

Former show owner Jay Snyder is pleased to see his "pièce de résistance" is in good hands. "After founding this event and seeing it through its formative stages, I can think of no organization better equipped to build upon our achievements," said Snyder. "I am confident that the I-X Center will carry on our traditions and offer an exceptional experience to artisans, collectors, and fans alike. This includes the continuation of the show being offered free to the public." And while Snyder will no longer oversee the day-to-day details of the event, he will stay on in an advisory role to ensure the show’s transition into new ownership is a seamless one.

 

Craig Thompson takes over the helm in 2011 as the By Hand Fine Art & Craft show manager. As the I-X Center liaison for the show since its inception, Craig is well-versed in the nuances of running the show floor.

 

The By Hand Fine Art & Craft Show showcases more than 225 local and national artists and has been ranked as one of the top art festivals by the Art Fair Sourcebook. The event is the only indoor juried art festival in Northeast Ohio, and features everything from fine oil paintings to functional pottery and textiles. Engaging educational classes and live demonstrations are there for attendees to take part in, and savvy shoppers will be thrilled to find those one-of-a-kind special gifts for family and friends.

The By Hand Fine Art and Craft Fair will remain co-locating with the Fabulous Food Show
